Shocking new theory: Humans hunted, ate Neanderthals
Tue May 21, 2013
From the reading I've done, Neanderthals are no longer with us because of several factors. Being hunted and eaten would only be one. Environmental change, competition with early humans, inability to adapt quick enough. Still, as a species they lasted much longer than we have so far. Their brains wer …

Investigator pleads for help in marathon bombing probe: 'Someone knows who did this'
Mon Apr 15, 2013
My thoughts are with the families of the dead and the wounded. Those who hide and live in the shadows, for whatever reasons, will always be with us. We are not 'safe' while we live and never will be. Remembering the Atlanta bombing and the way it seems to have been forgotten but for a few. Of course …
Pope Francis: Hypocrisy 'undermines Church's credibility'
Sun Apr 14, 2013
I'm not Catholic. I have noticed the Catholic Church is full of people. My church is full of people. The problem with their church and mine is they are full of people. I do hope this Pope can resurrect the idea of moral behavior.
First love child of human, Neanderthal believed found
Thu Mar 28, 2013
Why does everyone continue to see the Neanderthal as some how 'less' than Homo sapiens? They did not compete well with us but I remember high school where the smart kids did not compete well with the bullies. We may be the dumb bullies that won out. They may have been the peaceful thoughtful bunch.

Mental illnesses share common DNA roots, study finds
Wed Feb 27, 2013
Very often a gene that gives a benefit to a species may also cause problems that only arise occasionally. To remove one 'damaged' gene from our gene pool could also remove many of those most valued. Be careful, very careful.
Key provisions of Voting Rights Act appear in jeopardy after high court argument
Wed Feb 27, 2013
There is not and never has been a good explanation as to why voter ID should be required. There have been no instances of voter fraud at a level that would make it necessary.
Bloomberg scores victory on guns in Illinois race
Wed Feb 27, 2013
People seem to think the Government is after their guns. Obama and company are only doing what voting moms want them to do. Fear the moms if you want to keep your guns. It's easy to blame Obama. You know his name. The people seriously pushing for and demanding gun legislation are moms. Angry moms …
Florida man shot by his dog, police say
Tue Feb 26, 2013
We always forget that half of the people have a less than average IQ. I was taught at age 10, when hunting with my new 410 shotgun, that all weapons are loaded until they are proven unloaded. I was taught that dropping a weapon could cause it to fire. This was reinforced in the army when I saw it ha …
